About 5minutes later..Oh, I just thought of something else (just after I posted). Do we want to join a HP webring, or start our own or something? Just a thought. Again, supposed to draw in traffic. So. yeah.
OH! And, do we want people to be able to sign up as ghosts/etc? And if so, what about teachers? Should we let ppl sign up to be, say McGonagall? 'cuz it might really add to the RPG...and they could just a) not take a class or b) we could create a forum for them and they could post "extra" lessons on it for students to take, since we probably won't update classes very often? They could be a moderator of the board or whatever..I dunno, just an idea. Tell me whatcha think.

Okay. I just thought of another sort-of "class" we could have. For, say AP Art II (or something), we could have them draw scenes from the current GP! And then we could take those entries and do a "yearbook" in the library for each year.. what do you think? Or (to make it even cooler) we could just have "yearbook" classes..and, say, for each GP plotline, assign "teams" from the people who wanted to take the class (it would probably be a sign up class), and they could decide how they wanted to do it (ie: collage, several seperate images, etc), and add text and stuff that was "memorable" from the GP. And then they could do one for the regular RPG that was going on at that time (ie, Quidditch).... Or we could just offer them as art classes and have the first assignment be as mentioned above, then the other ones could have themes (ie: dark, good, funny, memorable)..and let them choose where they did it (ie: RPG, GP, Quidditch)...and then put them all together at the end of the year. Or (same idea, diff. organization) we could do what I just mentioned, but make it a "yearbook" class. And the AP yearbook class could be the Yearbook class mentioned above. Or something. What do you think? I think it's a good idea, I'm just not sure how to make it work. Dunno why I thought of it..it just popped into my head.
For the RPG/GP/Site, are we going to have a "newsletter" sent by e-m@il or should we do a "daily-prophet" type newsletter and do it in webpage-form? *Or* should we have both, one shorter newsletter sent to everyone to make sure that people got the important info, and then have a "Daily Prophet" done by the students (ie, have some1 in charge of it, who collects stuff from other ppl (ie, fanfic, fanart, "articles" (ie, over the stuff in the GP, RPG, and Quidditch), polls, etc), and puts it all together, and we "publish" it...once a month or something? Maybe? I think if we do that, we can have "editors" and "staff members" and just get a seperate web page that we link to Hidden Hogwarts. What do you think? I think we *should* have a seperate newsletter done by us, but I also think a "daily prophet" would be something fun.
*checks list* Mmm..are we or are we not going to have random contests and polls? Like, we could have a contest to come up with the best site slogan or something, and people could submit their answers, we'd post them, and then let people vote on them, or something. And then we could have fanfic and fanart contests, creative spell contests, etc. Say..have a monthly contest that people could submit stuff to? And then we could do seperate, smaller things to for the Common Rooms, like a poll (ie, who is your fave character? who is your fave teacher? which book is your fave? etc)...just stuff for fun.
Okay, tell me what you think about the above. I think..I think..I think that's everything. Do *you* want to be Hermione/Cho/Parvati/Angelina/someone from the books? Or are you going to have anyone in the RPG at all? (you have to. I will make you. lol) I am..but I'm not sure if I want to be someone from the books or not? Should I have one char. from the books and one not, or just one from the books, or just one not from the books? I don't know, it's so hard to decide! AGH! lol *dies* Oh, also: if someone signs up to be, say Fred, do they automatically get to play Quidditch just because they do in the books? Because that *is* kind of (definatley!) unfair...but then what do we do 'bout Harry? AGH, I have no idea. Unless we hold "tryouts" or something? How *are* we going to choose the Quidditch teams, anyway? Okay, I think that's everything at the moment..I'll think of other stuff, though (of course).

Urgh, sometime I am going to change this layout. It is getting on my nerves. I'm going to make a pretty background and use DIV layers, tables and stuff. Of course, I'll test it out on a webpage first, of course. But that doesn't really matter, we can wait until later. =)
Okay. Yeah. Okay, that sounds like a good way to choose prefects. Yeah..what would be in the password protected area, though?
I'll update the sorting hat right now. Literally. Okay, sorting hat is updated. Just in case you wanted to know :-)
Oops, I have to go now. I'll probably be back on later, tho.
Laura 2:26 PM
Okay, I couldn't get go.to/hiddenhogwarts 'cuz you have to pay for that ($10/yr, I think), so I just got www.on.to/hiddenhogwarts instead. Hope that's okay, if not, you can change it. I linked the GP FAQ just below the link to the GP on the main page, but didn't feel like updating any other pages, so it's only linked on the main one.
Also, someone needs to make an "about GP" page...do you want to do that or do you care? I dun care. I suppose if I get around to it, I'll do it..I think I'm going to make some linkto buttons, maybe?
For the e-m@il thing..we could just let them decide if they want to use their regular e-m@il or use the e-m@il we have, but recommend using the one that we have because it would be less confusing or something. I dunno. Ya, I do kind of know what you mean, tho. Maybe, if we get a bunch of people who sign up, we can do that, but not until later?
Should we keep track of the # of points the *students* earn from Quidditch/homework/posts/etc? And then we could have a "top 10 student list" and a "top 5 Gryffindor students", etc? And then take that into consideration when we choose prefects/heads? And..what do the prefects/heads get? Should we make them moderators of their common room message boards? (moderators=can edit, delete, etc. plot lines & posts, but they can't ban people) That's just an idea. And then maybe, if we have "aurors" or "experts" or just ppl who post a lot, we can make them moderators of the GP, and other forums? Or maybe not?
Okay. Do we also want to include personal info, like AIM sn, or URL of their website? I mean, we could add it to the Sorting Hat and let them decide if they want to give us that info or not. Maybe.
Eventually I'll make link-to buttons, etc, and then I'll make the link-to page. Do we want to have stuff like character cliques or "which Harry Potter character are you?" things? (check 'lanna's Tortall site if you dunno what I mean. And you need to go check out Emelan now that it's *mostly* done) I mean, the main point is to get more ppl to visit your site, really. Because they have to link to your site if they take a button and put it on their site (well, they're supposed to, and nearly every1 does). So...?
Hmm..you need to get online. And we need to make class pages. Yeppers. So. I'm going to go do something totally unrelated to any of this and work on my Reader Responses for English (yay *sarcam* so much fun)..

Well. The GP FAQ page does have tables, because I used the original FAQ as a template. If you want to change it, you can, I don't care. =) Now we have to go around and update all the pages with tables, and link them to the GP FAQ page, lol. I linked it to the FAQ page, but I haven't linked it to the tables yet. I'll link it to the main one but I'm not quite sure where it should be located. next to the "Guided Plot" link? Or down where the other FAQ page is? Anyway, I'll just put it somewhere, for now. Hm..we can have fly.to/hiddenhogwarts or flying.to/hiddenhogwarts..or go.to/hiddenhogwarts or clix.to/hiddenhogwarts or clik.to/hiddenhogwarts or destined.to/hiddenhogwarts...what do you think? The first three are from www.v3.com and the others are from Bravenet. Of course, there are a BUNCH more choices...especially from V3..but whatever. Choose one. lol
Laura 6:13 PM
Okay. Yes, the second class page does look strange, I'll tweak the colors. :-)- I made a member list (see?), organized by house. I haven't made the house lists yet, though. I will later.
- Well, they should work. They work for me. I don't know what's wrong..
- I edited the FAQ and Rules and Sorting Hat page so that people can be whatever character they want to be. But I don't think the plots should center around the main characters from the books.
- Okay, Yes, I like Comic Sans, too. :)
- Okay, I'll do the GP FAQ shortly here.
- Okay, I'll go get a redirect thing, too...I'll tell you when I get it where it was from.
Okay, I think that's about everything for the moment. But are we going to do "member" profiles? With the info submitted to the Sorting Hat? It's kind of nice to look up and be able to see who plays what character, etc. I was thinking we could just link those pages to the members list. And if we do that, do we want to let them give us the URL of a piccy of their character? Or not? Okay, that's all. For now.
